Team and Roles

An account has one role per person: Admin, Editor or Viewer. It decides what that person may do everywhere. The dashboard, the API and the assistant all check the same rule.

Who it's for

Admins adding teammates, and anyone who wants to know what their role allows.

A viewer who tries an action sees it disabled: Viewer access is read-only. Ask an admin for editor access to make changes. A banner tells a viewer the whole page is read-only. Every blocked action is disabled with its reason on hover, never hidden.

Invite a teammate

  1. Open Settings → Team.
  2. Enter the email and pick Admin, Editor or Viewer.
  3. Send the invitation.

Verbstack emails a link that works for 7 days, only for that address. A forwarded link joins nobody. Inviting the same address again replaces the open invitation with a new 7-day link. Someone who is already a member can't be invited. Change their role instead.

Accept an invitation

Open the email link, sign in or create an account with the invited address, and press Join followed by the account's name. Verbstack switches you to that account. A link that doesn't work says why: incomplete, not valid, already used, withdrawn, expired, sent to someone else, or no seat left.

Change a role or remove a member

In Settings → Team, change the role on a member's row or remove them. The last admin is protected. Verbstack refuses to demote or remove an account's last admin, even themselves, since an account with no admin could never change its billing, connections or settings again.

Seats

A seat is a current member or an open invitation, checked again when the invitation is accepted. Seats are split by role:

  • Free includes 1 admin-or-editor seat and 0 view-only seats.
  • Pro includes 1 admin-or-editor seat and unlimited view-only seats.
  • Max includes 2 admin-or-editor seats and unlimited view-only seats, on every Max band.

At the limit, inviting an admin or an editor is refused, for example: Your plan includes 1 admin or editor seat. Invite them as a viewer, or upgrade to add more. View-only invitations on Pro or Max are never refused for the seat limit.

What needs a plan or a role

Settings → Team needs Pro or Max, and inviting needs the Admin role. On Free, Settings → Team shows an upgrade card, and Free cannot invite anyone.

Team is not part of the 14-day trial. Settings → Team shows locked until you choose a paid plan.

Three things people get wrong

  • A role is not a plan. An editor on a Free account still cannot open Recommendations. The plan decides which pages exist, and the role decides what you may do on them.
  • Viewers are not locked out of collaboration. They comment, mention teammates and react. They cannot change the shop.
  • Changing a teammate's role is not an invitation. Send an invitation only to someone who is not a member yet.
