Keep a Spreadsheet Up to Date with a Live Link

A live link is a private web address for one report. Google Sheets and Excel read it and refresh it on their own.

Who it's for

Pro and Max plans. Account admins create and revoke links. Everyone on the account sees the list.

  1. Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Live Links.
  2. Select Create Link.
  3. Enter a name and choose a report. Choose a range where the report has one, and a shop if you have more than one.
  4. Select Create Link.
  5. Copy the link. You see it only once.

Use it in Google Sheets

  1. Open an empty sheet.
  2. Paste the Google Sheets formula into cell A1.

Google refreshes the data about once an hour.

Use it in Excel

  1. Select Data → From Web.
  2. Paste the link, then select Load.

Select Refresh All to update it.

What each report holds

ReportRows
P&L by MonthOne row a month
P&L by CategoryOne row a category
OrdersOne row an order, with the buyer's name, city, state, postal code and country
ListingsOne row a listing
Costs in ForceToday's cost for each listing that has one

Amounts are numbers in dollars. A column that ends in % holds a percent: 25 means 25%. The last column, As Of, is when Verbstack read the data.

Keep it private

Anyone with a link can read its report, buyer names included. Share the spreadsheet only with people you trust. If a link is lost or shared by mistake, revoke it and create a new one.

When a sheet shows an error

  • One cell says the link holds too many rows. A link holds up to 100,000 rows. For Orders or a P&L report, create a link with a shorter range. For Listings, create a Live Only link.
  • #N/A in Google Sheets. The link was revoked, the plan is below Pro, the shop is disconnected or paused, the month's API calls are used up, or Verbstack couldn't read the data (it tries again on the next refresh). Settings shows which one beside the link.

Each refresh counts as one API call, from the same monthly allowance as the API.
