The Inbox
The Inbox is one list of everything waiting on you: buyer offers, buyer messages, alerts, negative reviews, changes to approve and mentions from your team.
Who it's for
Anyone on a Pro or Max plan. Editors and admins act on items. Viewers read them and mark them read.
Before you start
Connect a shop and let it sync. Items build from your synced data each time the Inbox opens and after every sync. On Free the sidebar shows the count, with an upgrade offer on the page.
The tabs
| Tab | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Needs Action | Offers, expiring offers, negative reviews, changes to approve, feedback to leave and alerts that need a decision |
| Updates | The Morning Briefing, and alerts that are news rather than work |
| Messages | Buyer conversations |
| Mentions | Comments where a teammate @mentioned you |
| All | Every open item |
| Bookmarks | Items you bookmarked |
| Archive | Items you archived, and items Verbstack closed for you |
Needs Action is the tab you land on.
Work through an item
Click a row to open it in the pane, which marks it read. Use the buttons on the row or in the pane: Bookmark, Snooze for a Day, Mark as Read and Archive. Move down the list with J/K or the arrow keys.
Answer an offer
Open it in Needs Action and press Accept, Counter or Decline. For a counter, type the price, then press Send Counter. Verbstack sends your answer to Reverb and closes the item. An offer with under six hours left is badged Expiring.
Reply to a buyer
Open the message in Messages, type your reply, and press Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to send. Replying does not close the item. Archive it when the conversation is done. If the buyer writes again, the thread comes back unread for everyone. The Reply and Internal Note toggle switches modes. A note is visible to your team only, never the buyer.
Ask for a reply draft
Open the message, press Draft Reply, then Insert or Discard. Edit and send it yourself. Verbstack never drafts on its own, and never sends anything.
Draft Reply needs a Pro or Max plan and the Editor role. Each person gets 40 drafts an hour, counted against your AI allowance. It won't draft when the last message is yours, when a draft is already waiting, or when the reply would hold card, bank, credential or government ID details.
Reply to a negative review
A review of two stars or fewer becomes a Needs Action item. An unrated review is never negative.
Open it, write your reply under Reply Publicly (2,000-character limit), and press Post Reply. Reverb doesn't publish a reply endpoint, so it can refuse. The pane then offers Copy so you can post it yourself. Replying closes the item either way. Update Reply changes what you wrote.
Leave feedback for a buyer
Once an order is delivered, or some days after it ships, a "Leave feedback for" item appears in Needs Action. Open it to check the rating and the text, edit them if you want, then approve to leave the feedback on Reverb.
The pane shows what you need to decide:
- Feedback: The buyer's feedback on the order, if they left any
- Messages: The last three messages with the buyer. Show All opens the rest in place
- Order: The item, Order Total, dates, delivery and carrier, with Open Order and View on Reverb
- Buyer: Their orders, Lifetime Spend and first purchase, with Open Customer
A notice appears under the reason when the buyer rated the order 2 stars or fewer, the order has a refund, or the buyer opened a dispute.
Feedback you leave on reverb.com syncs to Verbstack, so the Inbox does not ask you for it again.
Approve a change
Approval items, which end "for your approval" or "needs your approval before it expires", open the recommendation's own pane, right in the Inbox. Approve, adjust, snooze or dismiss exactly as on Recommendations. The item closes when the recommendation is decided. See Recommendations and Approvals.
Read the Morning Briefing
There is one item per account in Updates, written between 05:00 and 07:00 your time. It holds a headline, a summary, the day's highlights and the groups of changes waiting for you. Verbstack rewrites it and marks it unread each morning.
Snooze, archive and bookmark
Snooze for a Day hides an item for exactly 24 hours. There is no other length. Find snoozed items under Filter → Snoozed.
Archive moves an item to the Archive tab. Nothing is deleted, and Move to Inbox brings one back. Bookmark adds it to Bookmarks.
All three apply to your whole team. Marking an item read applies only to you.
Filter and save a view
Filter offers Unread everywhere and Snoozed on every tab but Archive, plus Expiring Soon, High Value (offers of $1,000 or more), Major Only and the alert categories Financial, Inventory, Listing and Performance on some tabs. Filters live in the page address.
Save View turns your tab and filters into a new tab, shared with your whole account. Delete View removes it.
Do several at once
Tick rows and use the bar above the list: Archive, Read, Unread, Bookmark or Snooze.
What the sidebar badge counts
Open items in Needs Action, plus your open Mentions and unread buyer messages. It never counts Updates, snoozed or archived items.
What needs a plan or a role
Editors and admins act: they answer offers, reply, approve, snooze, archive and bookmark. Viewers read and mark items read. The other buttons are disabled or hidden for them. The badge count works on every plan, even though the Inbox itself needs Pro or Max.
Three things people get wrong
- The badge can be higher than the Needs Action list. It also counts mentions and unread buyer messages, on other tabs.
- Replying to a buyer does not clear the item. Archive it yourself.
- Mentions are private. They never show in a teammate's list.
