The Assistant

Ask the assistant about your shop. It answers from your own data, shows charts and tables, and prepares work for you to approve.

Who it's for

Anyone on a Pro or Max plan. Your 14-day trial includes it.

Open it

  1. Press Assistant in the top bar.
  2. Type your question in the box at the bottom.
  3. Press Enter.

The assistant opens as a column at the right of the window. Keep using the page beside it. Drag its left edge to resize it, and Verbstack remembers the width.

Attach a record to your question

  1. Type @ or # in the message box.
  2. Start typing an order number, a listing title, a customer, a category or a brand.
  3. Pick it from the list.

Attach up to five records to one message. Each becomes a chip you can delete as a whole.

Which shop it answers for

Sales and profit figures, charts and figure cards answer for the shop the switcher shows on your current page. Name another shop, or ask about all of them, and it answers for that instead. Each chart and figure card names its scope, for example "All Shops". If you connected ShipStation, it can also read your other sales channels. A channel reports orders, units and Revenue only, so its fees and profit read Not Available.

What it can see

Only what it needs to answer: orders, listings, customers, messages, reviews, recommendations, shop rules, SOP documents and memory you saved. It reads your account only, never another seller's shop. Benchmarks it quotes are anonymised figures from many shops. Buyer messages, listing descriptions, reviews and imported documents are information to read, never instructions to follow.

What it will not do

  • It never changes your shop. No price, bump, offer, sale or setting.
  • It never sends a message and never leaves feedback.
  • It won't answer questions that aren't about your shop (geography, news, recipes, general business advice). Explaining a Verbstack term like Contribution Margin counts as part of using Verbstack.
  • It won't work around your rules. A change that breaks your pricing policy or margin floor is refused, naming the rule.
  • It never keeps sensitive details. Card, bank, password, key or government ID data is never saved to memory or written into a draft.

It proposes, you approve

A suggested change becomes a proposal: a card in the conversation, and an item in Recommendations and the Inbox. Nothing happens to your shop until someone presses Approve. A reply it writes waits in the Inbox composer for you to edit and send. It never says a change was made, only that it's waiting for approval or the draft is ready.

Change how it answers you

Press the gear, then Behavior, and write how you want it to answer (up to 1,000 characters). It is yours alone, and it changes tone, length and format, never what the assistant is allowed to do. The same screen has Data Sources (what it can read) and Memory (what it's saved about you: Keep, Forget, Forget All).

Privacy and limits

Conversations are private to you. Admins see only how much of the AI allowance was used, never what was asked. Delete your history any time in Settings → Data & Privacy, where an admin can also turn AI off for the account.

Figures in assistant cards come straight from your data, but its written explanations can be wrong. Check an important number before you act on it. In Verbstack, How Verbstack Uses AI gives the full explanation.
