Connect to AI

Verbstack can plug into the AI tools you already use, so you can run your Reverb shop just by asking. Pull up last month's numbers, find your slowest listings, or bump a few of them, all from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more.

This guide covers what Connect to AI does, how to set it up with your AI tool, and how to keep it secure.

What Connect to AI does

Connect to AI links Verbstack to an AI assistant using MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that lets an AI tool securely connect to an app like Verbstack. Once connected, your assistant can look up your shop data and take action on your behalf, with your approval.

It works both ways: the AI can answer questions about your shop, and it can make changes like updating a price or setting a bump when you ask it to.

What you can do

Lead with what you want to get done, in plain language:

• Ask about your shop — revenue, fees, sell-through, days-to-sell, profit by product or category, customer lifetime value, payouts, and inventory aging.
• Manage listings — update a price or description, relist an item, end a listing, or check which listings are aging.
• Promote — set or remove a Bump, and weigh whether a bump is worth it.
• Reply to buyers — draft and send a reply to a buyer message without leaving your AI tool.
• Work in bulk — update many listings at once (available on Pro and above).

What you need

• A paid Verbstack plan (Starter or higher). Connect to AI is included on every paid plan. Free accounts see an upgrade prompt.
• A connected Reverb shop. If you have not connected yet, do that first from your Verbstack settings.
• An AI tool that supports MCP — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or ChatGPT.

Your AI tool connects to Verbstack at this address:

In Verbstack, go to Settings and open Connect to AI to copy this URL, see your usage, and manage connected tools.

How connecting works

When you add Verbstack to your AI tool, your browser opens a Verbstack sign-in and approval screen. You review what the AI is asking for and click Approve. That is it, the connection then renews itself automatically, so you will not have to reconnect.

In your AI tool, add a custom or remote MCP server, paste https://app.verbstack.com/api/mcp, and complete the browser approval. Each tool's official guide has the exact steps:

What the AI can access

You stay in control of how much access a connection has. There are three levels:

• Read — look up your shop data (orders, listings, profit, customers). No changes.
• Write — take actions for you, like updating a listing, setting a bump, or replying to a buyer.
• Bulk — larger batch actions, such as updating many listings at once (available on Pro and above).

The AI can only do what your Reverb connection allows. If an action needs a permission your Reverb account does not grant, Verbstack tells you at that moment, and nothing happens silently.

Security and privacy

• Connections use secure tokens, never your password. The AI tool never sees your Verbstack or Reverb login.
• Every connection is scoped to your account and your shop only.
• Access renews automatically and expires on its own, and you can revoke any connection instantly (see below).
• Revoking ends the whole session. The AI tool cannot quietly reconnect on its own.

Usage limits

Your plan sets how many AI requests you can make each month. Higher plans include more.

You can see how much you have used, and when it resets, under Settings → Connect to AI.

Managing your connections

Go to Settings → Connect to AI → Connected tools. Each connected tool shows its access level, your shop, when it connected, and when it was last used. Select Revoke to remove a tool immediately.

• "What were my top 5 best-selling brands last quarter?"
• "Which active listings have been sitting the longest? Suggest price drops."
• "What's my true profit on order #12345 after fees and shipping?"
• "Bump my three slowest pedals."
• "Relist the items that sold out last week."
• "Draft a friendly reply to my newest buyer message."
• "Give me a recap of how last week went."

Troubleshooting

• The approval screen will not finish. Make sure you are on a paid plan and signed in to Verbstack in the same browser.
• The AI says it does not have permission to do that. Your Reverb connection may be missing that permission. Reconnect your shop from Verbstack settings and try again.
• Your shop shows no data. Confirm your shop is connected and has finished syncing.
• You want to disconnect a tool. Go to Settings → Connect to AI → Connected tools and select Revoke.

Frequently asked questions

Is this safe? Yes. Connections use secure tokens rather than your password, are scoped to your account, expire on their own, and can be revoked at any time.

Can the AI do something irreversible without me? No. Changes happen only when you ask, the AI can only do what your Reverb connection allows, and you can keep a connection read-only.

Which plans include it? Every paid plan (Starter and above). Your trial includes full access.

Does it work with my AI tool? If your tool supports MCP, yes. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, and ChatGPT are all supported today.

Can I limit it to read-only? Yes. Grant a connection Read access only, and it can look things up but never make changes.
